We welcome and encourage inspections to ensure we are the right facility for your furry friend and are strictly by appointment only.

Simply contact our friendly staff to arrange a day and time that suits.

Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate inspections during our peak times or on Sundays.

We require a C5 for our canine guests and F3 or higher for our feline guests. It is important to send them through prior to arrival.

If you are due to have your vaccinations prior to arrival, we ask that your pets have them no later than 14 days prior to stay.

To ensure the health and safety of all our guests, we have a strict no vaccination no entry policy.

We are happy to administer medications however we do require you to let us know prior to arrival by simply email details including:

  • Medication name
  • What condition the medication is treating
  • Clearinstructions on when we need to administer and how often
  • Any precautions we may need to take when administering or handling the medication

Be sure to keep all medications in the bottle administered from your vet with the vet label intact. This gives us the most accurate information on the medication we are administering your pet.

If your pet is on a number of different medications controlling serious conditions, we strongly suggest considering alternative accommodation options such as veterinary boarding as some health conditions can be heightened by stress in new environments and schedules, which can trigger further illnesses and complications for your pet.

Please contact our friendly staff to discuss any concerns you may have.

Please note there is a medication administration charge starting at $4.00 per day.

  • My pet requires insulin injections, are you able to administer?

Unfortunately, we are unable to administer insulin due to the serious side effects of incorrect administration.

Older pets (dogs over 7-9 years and cats 8-10 years) often require special conditions and extra attention during their stay as they generally have more pre-existing medical conditions like heart conditions, kidney/liver dysfunction, thyroid problems, arthritis, and joint problems.

It is important to check with your vet to ensure they are fit to board as extra stress from being in a new environment can make certain conditions worse or even underlying symptoms may present themselves.

If your older pet has any serious or unpredictable medical conditions, we strongly suggest you board them with your vet.

Please contact our friendly staff to ensure we are the right fit for your older pet and to discuss any concerns you may have.

If your pet requires veterinary treatment during their stay, we will attempt to contact you first and seek your instructions however if it is a medical emergency and we cannot contact you, we will make a decision based on the welfare and best interest of your pet.

Please note all veterinary fees are the responsibility of the owner and must be paid at time of check out or before.

Whilst we welcome most breeds, there are some that don’t do well in a kennel environment and/or are aggressive in nature so pose a risk to staff and other guests. For this reason, there are some dogs we won’t be able to accommodate.

Please give our friendly staff a call to discuss.

We only offer shared accommodation for our small dogs and is based on your preference and matching criteria with same size and temperament.

Our medium to large dogs can share a kennel only with members of the same family.

All pets are monitored during the matching process by our staff who will ensure your dog is matched with their perfect new BFFF (best furry friend forever).

We try to cater to all types of requests, so let us know what you would like during your pet’s stay and we will accommodate wherever possible.

We encourage social play for all of our dogs based on matching criteria of same size and temperament, that is, our medium to large dogs will never be socialized with our small dogs unless from the same family.

If your dog isn’t well socialized we ensure they have plenty of interaction with others through adjoining fences and extra human time with our pet loving staff.

Pacific Pet Resort will never take any unnecessary risks with canine socialisation so we expect that owners will notify us of any behavioural issues they are aware and in the unlikely event that your dog attacks another dog, the owner of the attacking dog will be responsible for any veterinary fees.

Please note with all social interactions come with inherent risks so giving permission to social play is at your own risk.

Whilst we supply everything your pet needs during their stay, we understand some pets (& pet parents) prefer to bring items from home.

Should you choose to bring your own belongings for your dog, we can’t guarantee those items will be returned in the same condition after all the fun they have at Pacific Pet Resort.

Cats are welcome and encouraged to bring blankets, special toys, bed, and belongings as they do well having items from home with their familiar scent.

Yes, you are more than welcome to bring your own food however please ensure there is enough for the entire stay plus extra and is clearly labelled in portion controlled packets.

Please note there are certain circumstances where your pet may require additional feeding due to high levels of energy expenditure and/or stress levels.

Simply speak to our team to ensure we can meet your dietary needs and requirements.

Currently we offer accommodation for birds, rabbits, and guinea pigs.

We do accept un-desexed pets in private accommodation only.

No amount of supervision or hygiene practices can completely eliminate the presence of Canine Cough.

Signs of Canine Cough include a persistent cough often followed by gagging. If your pet displays any of these signs post stay, it is recommended that your pet is kept rested with plenty of water. If the coughing persists or your dog becomes lethargic, please consult with your vet.

Should we detect any pet displaying symptoms of Canie Cough we will isolate them from other pets to stop the spread of this virus.  We also spray our kennels daily with Safe4 disinfectant which achieves a broad spectrum kill of potentially harmful micro-organisms including Canine Cough, Parvovirus and Feline Virus. It is a great product for achieving a high level of biosecurity effectively and safely as it poses no hazard to humans and is completely safe to use in presence of animals.

Pacific Pet Resort will make all attempts to prevent any outbreak of Canine Cough, however like Human colds and Flu’s the virus is unpredictable even in the cleanest environment.  Pacific Pet Resort will not be held accountable in the event that an animal contracts the virus but will make every attempt to make sure the pet is comfortable and treatment is sought.

After your pet’s stay, it’s not unusual for habits to change and they may require readjusting when they get home, just like us when we return from a holiday.

Some common post boarding behaviour includes, especially those who have stayed with us for a few weeks or more:

Sleeping a lot

This is not uncommon as they are active for the majority of the day and have more stimulation than they might normally do so they are ready for a good rest when they get home.

Over excitement

Your pet are super excited to get home and be by your side so they may run around and go crazy.

Eating a lot, this is very common as your pet has been in the company of other pets and is typical normal canine behaviour

Upset tummy

This is generally attributed to a change in diet while staying with us. We feed all our dogs Royal Canin, a premium dry food which is industry endorsed, and our cats receive a combination of Royal Canin dry and Whiskas wet food. You are more than welcome to supply your pet’s own food to prevent an upset tummy.

Excessive thirst:

Like us when we are having so much fun, we may forget to drink enough water and for your pet this may catch up with them when they get home. It is best not to allow your pets to gulp more than one bowl of water as they can be prone to bloat and vomiting if too much is consumed too fast.

Weight loss

Can occur in certain breeds or due to certain behaviours, such as excess activity and even anxiety.  We offer all pets as much food as they comfortably eat without creating a health risk and monitor high energy and stressed dogs for their feeding habits. Imagine yourself if you moved for 2 to 3 additional hours a day with the same calorie intake how much weight can be burned off.  As each pet is uniquely different, we can’t guarantee weight will not be lost, however, we will ensure we do our utmost to prevent it.

Most of these behaviours will settle after a few days as they readjust from our schedule back to their home environment.
